It seems like I need to read about a certain concept/idea multiple times until it finds a hold in my mind. Beeing meticulous when it comes to quality standards, near the edge of self mutilation, was never something that resonated with me (Dont let the great be the enemy of the good). It seemed like a form of obsessive micromanagement. But... I missed the point. Most things lead down an abyss when they are performed for their own sake (or for the only benefit of the performer). But as soon as actions serve a higher purpose, something beyond yourself, they become a tool.
